I'm releasing the vertical slice!!


Hey everyone!

After ~a year of development, I'm excited to share the vertical slice for Pic-A-Ball!

What's in this update?

This version represents the complete vision for Pic-A-Ball as an engine builder with auto-battler elements. Here's what's new:

A New Unique Paddle

  • New Time-Stopping Paddle: This new paddle stops enemies and their projectiles when you activate it with right click.

More Strategic Choices

  • 5+ New Orbs: More balls = more possibilities for your runs
  • 10+ New Artifacts: Game-changing items that can completely alter your strategy
  • Orb Synergy System: Combine different orbs for powerful effects—find those broken builds!

Revamped Combat

  • Wave-Based Combat: Battles now progress through enemy waves rather than time limits
  • 4+ New Enemy Types: Each with unique behaviors that require different approaches
  • 12-Round Structure: A complete run takes you through 12 increasingly challenging rounds
  • Mixed Encounter Design: A blend of hand-crafted scenarios and procedural generation helps every run feels fresh but fair

Enhanced Feel

  • Additional Sound Effects: More audio feedback to make those satisfying ball-popping moments even better
